Las Brujas Geisha

Las Brujas Geisha

The name Kotowa comes from the indigenous Ngöbe Indian language, which means "mountains." A "Coffee from the Mountains" that is produced in Boquete by dedicated people in a traditional way.

The Kotowa farm, in the hands of its third-generation producer, is owned by the Ricardo Koyner family. The Koyner family moved to Panama from Canada in the late 1900s and established one of the first coffee mills in Panama; it is actually still operational today. The farm is located on the Boquete mountainside of the Barú Volcano. Given where this particular coffee is grown—on the slopes of the volcano—the Geisha coffee varietal does particularly well because of the slightly drier climate.
